About MSc in Computing and Information Systems
MSc. CIS is an innovative programme with an integrated dynamic delivery covering a wide range of information systems and computing topics. It is designed to meet the increasing demand in the work place of IT/IS/CS professionals with a wide range of technical skills and the capacity to offer support in the implementation of ICT-based solutions in a business environment. The programme is not suitable for people who have a degree in computing.

The programme is designed to create a deep level of knowledge and understanding in core areas such as Programming, Databases, Mobile and Web Technologies, Networks, and Security as well as practical skills in modern-day topics such as Data Science, Data Analytics, and emerging trends in computing. To enhance employability, the skills and knowledge gained on the programme are directly relevant to industry which enhances graduates employability. Additionally, this programme contains a challenging mixture of theoretical and practical topics which allow students to explore the issues around the management of information technology in business and industrial contexts.  

Candidates are prepared to work as Software engineers, Intelligent Systems Designers, Database developers, Technical consultancy and project management roles, Programmers, Web designers and developers, System Administrators, Computer Systems Analysts, Software Architects, IT/IS Managers, Network Engineers, IT Consultants. They may also work in a range of different industries, including Health, Economy, Defence, Education, Business Research, and Telecommunications. Alternatively, candidates may further their previous careers with a strong understanding of how IT can be suitably applied in their own disciplines.

International Experience
Strathmore provides global exposure to students through international academic trips to expand their knowledge.

The programme starts in May and September every year.
